SALEM FAMILY MINISTRIES/HARRY & CHERYL SALEM

Married in 1985, Harry and Cheryl Salem each found the love of their life in the other. For over three decades, they’ve traveled the nation together, ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ through Salem Family Ministries. Their transparent, authentic approach—same behind the pulpit as behind the curtain—has brought healing and salvation to countless lives. Together, they’ve authored more than 40 books with a mission to “go two by two reaching souls one by one.”

FORGED THROUGH LOSS AND IMPOSSIBLE FAITH

Cancer took Harry’s father when he was just ten, thrusting him into an impossible role: ‘man of the house.’ A grieving boy forced to carry a man’s weight—that defining loss forged his profound ability to reach men who grew up fatherless or now navigate that vacancy.

Cheryl’s miracle began at age eleven when a near-fatal car crash crushed her leg, broke her back, and left her with over 100 stitches. Doctors said she’d never walk again, but God grew a cocoon of bone around 32 crushed bones. While others called her a cripple, she called herself a miracle. At seventeen, she stepped forward at a Kenneth Hagin meeting and God instantly grew her leg out two inches. Five years later, she took the Miss America 1980 crown— walking proof that nothing is impossible with God.

WHEN LOSS DEEPENED THE CALL

In 1999, Harry and Cheryl walked through every parent’s worst nightmare when their six year-old daughter Gabrielle went to heaven from an inoperable brain tumor. Rather than retreat from ministry, they leaned in—with an increased passion for restoration, strengthening families, and bringing souls to Jesus. Gabrielle’s life became a Kingdom seed that to this day produces a harvest of souls the enemy can never stop.

A MINISTRY OF RESTORATION

Today, their church services overflow with testimonies of healing and salvation. They’ve ministered across many platforms, from television programs to conferences and crusades, carrying the same authentic fire of heaven everywhere they go. Through their School of Worship, School of Healing, and School of the Holy Spirit, they raise up disciples who don’t just do worship, but become worship.

FAMILY AT THE HEART

Family is at the heart of everything for Harry and Cheryl Salem. God’s restoration is most visible in their family: sons Harry III and Roman, their daughter-in-love Stephanie (Roman’s wife), and grandchildren Mia Gabrielle and Roman Harry—living proof that God restores what the enemy meant to destroy.

In recognition of their ministry impact, Harry and Cheryl hold Honorary Doctorates of Divinity from Heritage University and Seminary. Cheryl was also named Mississippi State University Alumnus of the Year, and became the first MSU Music Department Hall of Fame inductee.
